The Fresno Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Bureau will conduct a DUI checkpoint on July 7, 2007 in the Southwest District, beginning at 6:00 pm. 06/22/07  Two Suspects in Kidnap/Attempted Murder Surrender to Police
Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer would like to inform the public that two of the three suspects wanted in a kidnapping and attempted murder have surrendered to authorities.Just a few moments ago, 21-year-old Veronique Miles, and 20-year-old Shakeenah Packard turned themselves in to Fresno Police and were arrested without incident.Both Miles and Packard will be charged with attempted homicide, two counts of assault with a  deadly weapon (one with a firearm), robbery, terrorist threats, and kidnapping.The Fresno Police Department is still searching for Jarmaine Doubs, who faces the same charges as Packard and Miles >more

06/13/07  Theft Series Hits Fresno-Clovis:15 Thefts of Washers/Dryers in Last 3 Weeks
Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer and Clovis Police Chief Jim Zulim would like to alert the public to an on-going series of thefts occurring in Northeast Fresno and Clovis.Since May 24, 2007, 15 thefts of coin-operated washers/dryers from apartment complexes have occurred: nine in the City of Fresno, and six in the City of Clovis.  In most cases, the suspects are entering laundry rooms through unlocked doors or prying doors open. >more
