Cops Cooking for Seniors

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer is inviting the media to a special event tonight in Southeast Fresno as senior citizens are honored for their tireless work in the community.
More than 200 seniors will be on hand for the 9th annual Senior Citizen's Village Volunteer of the Year Dinner. One senior citizen will be honored with the "Volunteer of the Year" award for their contributions to improving Southeast Fresno. Officers from the Southeast Policing District will cook and serve the dinners.
Along with Chief Dyer, also scheduled to attend tonight's event is District 5 Council Member Mike Dages and Council Assistant Sal Quintero.
The event begins at 5:30 pm tonight at the Senior Citizen's Village, 1917 S. Chestnut.
