MAJOR PROPERTY CRIME THEFT ARRESTS   1,000 feet of copper wire recovered

Police Chief Jerry Dyer would like to inform the public of a major arrest of suspects stealing copper wire.

Last night (11/28) a citizen called police to report suspicious activity in the area of Grantland and Roberts in Northwest Fresno. Patrol officers found a car in the 99/Shaw area that matched the description provided.

Inside the vehicle was approximately 1,000 feet of copper wire that had been stolen from City of Fresno light poles and lamp posts.

The following suspects were arrested and face Felony Grand Theft and Felony Vandalism charges:
Simon Perez, 35, Fresno, D.O.B. 09/30/1972
Nathan Carver, 43, Fresno, D.O.B. 05/30/1964
Ross Lane, 26, Fresno, D.O.B. 03/12/81

Since August 13, 2007, there have been more that 100 copper wire thefts in the City of Fresno, most in Northwest and Northeast, totalling more than $222,000.00
