| Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer announced today the results of the week-long operation designed to protect children and others walking near school zones.More than 80,000 children returned to school in Fresno this week. Due in part to the "Safe Schools" operation and drivers being extra cautious and alert in school zones, there were no children injured throughout the City of Fresno this first week of school.More than 40 officers in the Fresno Police Traffic Bureau wrote nearly 400 traffic citations this week for infractions committed in school zones >more |
