11/21/06  Operation Bulldog Update
Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer would like to update the media on the progress of "Operation Bulldog," the Department's commitment to rid the City of Fresno of the Bulldog street gang.In the week of November 13 through 19, the Fresno Police Department made 103 felony arrests of Bulldog Gang Members, 18 parole arrests, 6 probation arrests, and seized 1 weapon.Bulldog gang members were arrested on a variety of charges to include stolen vehicles, possession of stolen property, weapons charges, possession of drugs, and felony fraud.Among the notable arrests:-Rene Vargas arrested on November 18, 2006 as part of a  Domestic Violence investigation on the 1100 block of E >more

11/18/06  Arrests in "Operation Bulldog"
On Friday, November 17 at 11:30 pm, a 31-year-old male resident of the Sylmar Place Apartments at 1320 N. Sylmar in Southeast Fresno was beaten with fists, kicked, and then stabbed by five members of the Bulldog street gang. The assault was unprovoked and the victim sustained two non life- threatening stab wounds to his lower back. >more

11/09/06  Sobriety Checkpoint
The Fresno Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Bureau will conduct a Saturation Patrol on November 10, 2006 in the Northwest District of the City beginning at 6:00 pm. In addition, specially assigned officers will patrol other areas of the City, searching for drivers under the influence.Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the Business, Transportation, and Housing Agency. >more

Police Chief Jerry Dyer would like to update the media on this morning's SWAT incidents, as part of "Operation Bulldog."In conjunction with SWAT, DCST, and MAGEC, Fresno Police Homicide served eight search warrants in follow-up to the shooting death of Clarence Summerfield on 11-01-06. Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer wishes to provide the media with the following update on the 13-year-old Ahwahnee Middle School student who died yesterday afternoon near the campus.The Fresno County Coroner will begin the autopsy on the victim tomorrow morning at 9 am. The case remains anonymous, pending Coroner notification.There is currently no one in custody for this incident >more
