No Holiday for Impaired Driving

The Fresno Police Department, in partnership with the Office of Traffic Safety is aggressively targeting impaired drivers this Holiday season.
The Fresno Police Department will conduct 15 sobriety and driver's license checkpoint operations in just 17 days. The Holiday Sobriety Checkpoints will begin Friday, December 15, 2006 and end Friday, January 5, 2007. The checkpoints will run from approximately 9:00 pm to 4:00 am. The checkpoints will be held in all five policing districts.
In addition to the checkpoints, the Neighborhood Traffic Unit will be conducting nightly saturation patrols and the Traffic Unit will also continue the "Bar Watch" program.
The media is encouraged to attend the checkpoints or ride-along during "Bar Watch" operations.
The Fresno Police Department's holiday enforcement operations are funded by an Office of Traffic Safety grant.
