08/05/05  Learning and Living Well in America
This summer, Hmong children actively engaged in a variety of academic and cultural activities that promoted their personal growth. After attending Stone Soup’s Culture Camp, which ran from June 13th to July 22nd, newly arrived Hmong refugee children are now equipped with knowledge of the alphabet, shapes, numbers and colors and are ready for kindergarten. Thanks to the Office of Disctrict Four, Council Member Larry Westerland, the children were transported everyday for six weeks to Stone Soup’s Culture Camp. >more
