As part of it's ongoing focus on addressing criminal incidents in Fresno, the Police Department utilizes the COMPSTAT concepts in its own version called Crime View.
In this functional strategy, raw and unaudited criminal activity data for a rolling two week period is geographically mapped and will be distributed weekly throughout the Police Department staff. The goals of which are:
Keep the challenges before us in our constant vision,
Understand where our challenges are within the City,
Be prepared to strategically address the ongoing challenges as they arise, and
Proactively project and intercept the criminal activity within the City as possible before it happens.
