ANNUAL STATS 2009
In 2009 the Air Unit was successful in accomplishing their set goal to reduce the previous year’s average response time of 37 seconds (an industry leading low) to 35 seconds or less. The Unit came in with an overall yearly average response time of 35 seconds (an outstanding achievement in the airborne law enforcement arena).
The Unit had significant increases in multiple categories. In 2009 the Air Support Unit increased their calls for service and handled 3,930 patrol calls. They surpassed the previous year in flight time and increased their flight hours by flying a total of 1,805 total flight hours.
Fresno PD Air Support Continued to better last years averages and lead the industry with the best ever total arrests by the helicopter of 665 arrests, over 200 more than the previous year.
