Foundation
Thank you for taking a moment to familiarize yourself with the Fresno Police Chief’s Foundation and for considering the enormous impact your contributions will have on making our community safer. The Fresno Police Chief’s Foundation is a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization that was established by concerned business leaders to allow the community a way to support the unmet needs of the Fresno Police Department.
The unmet needs of the Fresno Police Department are significant, as the City’s budgets are unable to meet the increasing needs. The Police Department’s budget provides the resources to meet most of the Department’s operational needs; however, unforeseen needs often arise, outside of regular budget allocations that require additional funding. This is where the Foundation can make a difference.
The Fresno Police Chief’s Foundation is currently seeking $1.3 million in contributions from the community to:
1. Equip every K9 police service dog in the department with bullet-proof vests.
2. Provide dash-mounted video cameras in every patrol car, enabling officers to record arrests and criminal detentions, thus contributing to the safety of officers in the field.
3. Purchase UV (Ultra Violet) Lights for every police vehicle, making it possible for officers to better detect fraudulent driver’s licenses and other counterfeit items.
4. Help the Fresno Police Department attract and recruit the finest men and women – locally, regionally, and nationally to our growing department.
