Waste Tire Enforcement Program

The City of Fresno, in conjunction with the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) is enforcing the State Waste Tire Statues and Regulations.

This program monitors the storage and disposal of waste and used tires to insure that the facilities are in compliance with State and Local laws. Code Enforcement inspectors are inspecting all businesses that sell, replace, haul, and/or dispose of tires. Inspectors will also confirm that registered tire haulers are operating as mandated by the State. A business must:

  • Register with the CIWMB.
  • Have a Tire Program Id number assigned to each business location.
  • Use the California Uniform Waste and Tire Manifest and the California Used Tire Trip Log forms.
  • Contract with a hauler who has registered with the CIWMB.
  • Store waste tires in compliance with State and City regulations.

It is the intent of the City of Fresno to assist businesses to comply with State and City waste tire regulations.
