Civil Service Board
The City of Fresno Charter, section 909 establishes the Civil Service Board to oversee a merit system of selection and retention of City employees in the classified service. The Civil Service Board is governed by the Civil Service Board Rules and Regulations which can be accessed by clicking here.
Classified permanent employees may request a Civil Service Board Hearing following being served with an order of removal, suspension, demotion or fine in lieu of suspension. Employees must file a written answer and demand for an appeal hearing with the Board pursuant to subsection (b) of Section 3-282.
