Picnic Table Fee Reservation Schedule

Rotary Amphitheater at Woodward Park w/ Stage and 1,800 to 2,500 seating capacity: Call (559) 621-2900 for Reservations.

Annual Passes: ($25 per year) Prepaid one-day entry passes and unlimited entry passes for both Roeding and Woodward Parks may be purchased at the Parks Division Office at City Hall Annex, 2326 Fresno Street, Room 101, Fresno, CA 93721. Passes can also be purchased at the parks entrance booth and at Mosqueda Community Center, Ted C. Wills Community Center and Hinton Community Center or call (559) 621-2900.

Wedding Reservations at Woodward Park: Weddings in the Shin Zen Garden may only be held in the grass area at the back of the Garden near the rear gate. The area is shaded by large pines and will accommodate a maximum of 200 people. The area is backed by an attractive wooden fence with a gate suitable for the bride's entry. The fence separates the Garden from a service road and small parking area (several cars only). It would be possible to use this area for a recreational vehicle or access for a delivery vehicle. Two electrical outlets with a combined capacity of 20 amps are near the fence line. Weddings may be scheduled on weekend or holiday mornings from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. All reservations are first come, first served and must be made in person at the Parks Division Office at 2326 Fresno St., Rm. 101 at least 30 days in advance. No reservations will be accepted more than one year in advance of the wedding date. Fees for weddings in the Shin Zen Garden are necessary to provide the added maintenance and security required to accommodate these group events.

The Fees are: $250 (for the first 100 people): or $500 (for 101-200 people) Maximum of 200 people.

Weddings can also be held free of charge in the Redwood Glen Area, this area is south of the parking lot to the Japanese Garden.

Entrance Fees: There is a $3.00 per vehicle charge to enter Woodward Park between the months of February and October. Prepaid one-day entry passes may be purchased at the Parks Office, City Hall Annex, 2326 Fresno St., Rm. 101, Fresno, CA 93721-1824. Annual passes for the calendar year are also available at $25.00 for unlimited entry to the park.

Picnic Reservations: Reservations can be scheduled one year in advance between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. by telephone ((559) 621-2900) or in person at the Parks Office.

Reservation Fees: Fees for picnic tables in reserved areas vary according to size of table and condition of the area; i.e., whether the shelter is covered or open and set on a concrete or dirt surface. Tables may be reserved for one half or whole day ( 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and/or 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) at the current rates. If your reservation extends from the first half into the second half of the day, you will be charged the whole day fee. The park is staffed to ensure that reservations are honored. Please report any problems to the fee booth attendant at the park entrance.

Payment Deadline: All reservations will be canceled after 5 business days if payment is not received at the Parks Office. Checks or money order may be hand delivered or mailed to the Parks Office, 2326 Fresno St., Rm. 101, Fresno, CA 93721-1824 indicating the exact name of the individual and/or organization in which the reservation was made, date scheduled, shelter reserved, Permit #, and a stamped, self-addressed envelope enclosed to receive your receipt/confirmation.

Reservation Changes or Cancellations: All changes in the original reservation must be made by the individual who made the reservation.

Request for Refund: All requests for refunds must be made in writing to the Parks Manager stating the reason for refund and enclosing your proof of payment. This may be in the form of a receipt or a canceled check.

Refund requests must be received no later than two weeks prior to the reservation date. Refund requests received later than two weeks prior to the reservation date will not be granted nor will requests for refunds for inclement weather or electrical failure. Although every effort is made to ensure that lights and outlets are working prior to your reservation, power outages or overloaded circuits sometimes occur and will not be considered reason for a refund. Refunds are subject to a processing fee ($15.00) and take four to six weeks.

Park Policies: Amplified music is permitted in shelters, if the entire picnic shelter has been reserved and prior approval is received from Parks management. Music must be played at a volume so as not to disturb other park users or neighborhood residents. At the discretion of the Parks Manager or the Fresno Police Department, security guards may be required at the cost of the reserving party.

The City does not provide storage space with this reservation; all personal property shall be removed after usage. The hours of use specified on the reservation receipt include preparation and setup time and cleanup, all of which are the responsibility of the reserving party. The type of decorations and manner of installation are subject to the prior approval of the Parks Manager. None shall be installed so as to damage the facility, and readily flammable materials shall be flame proofed in accordance with law. No signs, banners, or decorations shall be hung or tied to park trees.

Individuals may not sell any ticket for a performance or activity or seek contributions for a performance or activity whether conducted in the park or elsewhere except with the prior written permission of the Parks Manager. (FMC §8-401(2)

Alcoholic beverages, narcotics and illegal substances are not permitted in City parks. (FMC §8-411)

The reserving party and their guests shall be jointly and severally responsible for the personal conduct of their group and for any damage to the facility. The facility must be used solely for the purpose indicated on the reservation form and shall not be used for business or commercial activities.

Additional Information

This reservation may be revoked and future requests for reservations to use a picnic shelter or other park facility may be denied for a violation of any of the above policies.

The City has the right to cancel any reservation or make adjustments to meet the demands of other usages or needs of programs of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department or emergency requirements.
