Freddie The Electric Fire Engine
October 2004 marked the arrival of a new and improved fully animated, Freddie the Fire Engine. After many years of performing fire safety stunts at events throughout the community, the former Freddie was retired from service.
The latest Freddie is a remote-controlled electric miniature fire engine. Freddie comes complete with flashing lights, blinking eyes, a siren, and he sprays water.
Freddie is used to help teach children the importance of fire safety. Freddie is accompanied by two Fresno City firefighters who talk to the children about 911; Stop, Drop, and Roll; as well as other safety issues.
To schedule Freddie for a community related activity or school events, contact Fresno Fire Department Headquarters at (559) 621-4199. A minimal service fee of $25 is charged to reserve Freddie.
