Fresno, CA (January 3, 2008) – The National Weather Service is advising area residents of a series of strong storms expected to hit the Valley today through Sunday. The Fresno Fire Department’s Office of Emergency Services is advising residence to prepare for flood and hazardous conditions as a result of the storms. Flooding is the nation's most common natural disaster, and the Department is advising residents to be aware and prepare no matter where they live. >more

Fresno, CA (November 2, 2007) – On Saturday, November 3, the Fresno Fire Department & AT&T Pioneers will be installing smoke alarms in the Jefferson Elementary School neighborhood (202 N Mariposa St.). The smoke detectors are provided by the Fresno Fire Chief’s Foundation and Burn Aware. >more

Fresno, CA (October 10, 2007) – On October 8, 2007 Fresno Fire crews responded to a report of an apartment fire at 1935 E. Sussex #204. Upon arriving firefighters found a bed fully involved in fire in a back room. >more

09/27/07  Moonlight Wildfire Impacting Valley Air Quality
FRESNO, CA (September 7, 2007) – The Fresno City Fire Department is urging residents to take extra precautions during the San Joaquin Valley’s current air quality alert. The alert called due to smoke impacts from the Moonlight wildfire in Plumas County is affecting Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and Kern counties. The Fresno Fire Department asks residents to be aware they may detect a heavy odor of smoke; this may be due to smoke from the Moonlight wildfire. >more

06/15/07  Arson Investigators Arrest Homeowner for Insurance Felony Fraud
WHAT: On Friday 06/15/2007 at approximately 0249hours, fire crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire at 2106 N Fruit. Upon examination of the fire scene arson investigators determined that multiple fire origins were identified inside and outside the residence, including a vehicle parked in the backyard. Ignitable liquid was identified as the material first ignited. >more
