| FRESNO, CA (June 27, 2008) – Every year deaths, injuries, and fire occurs as a result of illegal fireworks use. In 2006 the Consumer Product Safety Commission reported 11 deaths associated with fireworks. Two people were killed when they were struck by aerial fireworks that had just been launched. >more |

| Fresno, CA (June 10, 2008) – The Fresno Fire Department would like to remind residents to put safety first, while grilling this summer. Every year Fresno firefighters respond to preventable home fires caused by careless disposal of charcoals, or unsafe grill use. This problem is not unique to Fresno, according to the National Fire Protection Association, gas and charcoal grills caused an average of 900 structure fires and 3,500 outdoor fires in or on home properties in 2002, resulting in a combined direct property loss of $30 million. >more |
