North Central Fire Protection District Board to Vote on Merger Plan
05/10/2006

WHAT: Today NCFPD board members are expected cast their vote deciding whether they’ll contract with the Fresno City Fire Department for services. The 30 year deal to regionalizing fire services would significantly increase both fire protection and medical services to residents.

Supporters of the proposed merger include NCFPD Firefighters Union, NCFPD Chief Lonnie Downs, and Kerman Mayor Ken Moore. In today’s Fresno Bee the Editorial Board calls Chief Bruegman’s proposal “A winning plan”.

Local media are invited to attend today’s NCFPD Board meeting, where Fire Chief Randy Bruegman will be available to answer media questions.
