Fresno Fire Department employs 375 uniformed firefighters

  • 22 fire stations and an Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) station that serves a population of more than 500,000
  • 29 companies consist of 22 engines, 7 ladder trucks, 4 water tenders, 2 brush rigs, 2 type 1 Hazmat rigs, 1 patrol rig, 1rescue truck, 2 personal water crafts and 2 aircraft rescue units
  • The companies are divided into four battalions, each supervised by a battalion chief
  • Daily staffing consist of 98 firefighters and one 24-hour arson investigators
  • The department responded to a total of 35,464 per FRMS calls in 2007
