Self Inspection Pilot Program (SIP) How to Guide
The Fresno City Fire Department has initiated a Self Inspection Pilot Program (SIP). This program is free of charge and is designed for office type properties that have a low-hazard potential for fires and other life safety concerns.
The self-inspection program will allow these "lower-hazard" offices to be inspected by you, the business or property owner, on a 12-month inspection cycle. It is our intent that by allowing you to identify and eliminate the most common fire hazards in your occupancy, that we will encourage you to continue to maintain a fire safe environment for you, your property, your employees and the general public without an in person inspection from fire department staff.
In order to make your self inspection successful; we have tried to make it as customer friendly as possible. By following the simple instructions provided and using the associated self inspection worksheet, you will be able to conduct a fire and life safety inspection of your property/business at your convenience. As always, if you have any questions or need help with your self inspection, fire department staff are available to answer questions. You may reach the Fire Prevention Division at (559) 621-4181 or by following this link Contact Fire.
With your continued support and cooperation, we can continue to reduce the fire risk in our community.
