Home Link The Juvenile Fire Education Program(JFEP) is designed to evaluate children concerning their firesetting behavior, offer referrals to mental health if necessary, and increase fire awareness for families.

A dedicated staff from varying backgrounds consisting of paid members and volunteers. Who are committed to helping the community through diversion and education.

Although JFEP is a branch of the Fresno Fire Department’s Investigation Division, our goal is to prevent juveniles from becoming involved with the Juvenile Justice system. Our sole goal is to help families, not punish them.

We use a FEMA endorsed fire risk assessment tool created by Ken Fineman, Ph.D.

Our juvenile fire safety classes include information regarding basic fire science, emergency preparedness, fire safety, fire prevention, legal consequences, and peer pressure.
