Contact your local fireworks vendor for an application. Complete the application by the deadline. Once the application has been approved by the Fire Department Prevention Division your organization will be entered into the lottery drawing.

The supplemental paperwork is additional paperwork which needs to be completed by your organization and your fireworks vendor once you have been chosen in the lottery.

You can store your fireworks in a C-train type container at least 30 feet away from your fireworks stand. You can also store your fireworks at your fireworks vendor’s warehouse.

You may NOT put sandwich boards or any other advertisement near or around your fireworks stand. You may only affix signs to the fireworks stand. Pennant flags that the fireworks vendors supply are allowed to be used on the top of the fireworks stand and to block parking around the fireworks stand only.

Each organization is responsible for calling the Fresno Fire Prevention Division on the fourth Wednesday in May to schedule the initial inspection of the fireworks stand. Once the initial inspection has been completed successfully and the Fresno Fire Department Prevention inspector has issued the permit, an engine company will inspect the stand on a daily basis while it is open.

If you can not be present at your fireworks stand initial inspection have someone else from your organization or your fireworks vendor go to the stand to meet the Fire Department. You do not want to miss the initial inspection you have scheduled. Appointments are very limited and are on a first come first serve basis.

You are required to put one of each product that you will be selling in the fireworks stand for your initial inspection.

It is very important you stay in close contact with your fireworks vendor. If your product has not arrived at the time of your initial inspection you will not receive your permit. You will be subject to a re-inspection fee of $74.00 before you.

If you sell fireworks without first receiving your Fireworks Permit from the Fresno Fire Department Prevention Division you will receive a fine of $1250.00 and you could loose your permit for the fireworks season.
