Station No. 5
Constructed in 1950 and located at 3131 North Fresno Street near Shields south of the canal. Station No. 5 houses a single engine company and is also the home for the Department’s 24-hour Arson investigator who responds to all multi-company fire calls in the city, as well as other fires of a “suspicious” nature. The Investigator or “I” unit is responsible for determining cause and origin of fires, gathering evidence, and pursuing prosecution of individuals guilty of committing arson.
Station No. 5 has within its response area Manchester Mall and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital.
Engine No. 5 - The engine is operated by a crew of four.
