Long Range Planning
This section of Sustainable Fresno is responsible for accomplishing the preparation and maintenance of the Fresno Green Development Code, General Plan and Master Environmental Impact Report (MEIR) Update. This effort will provide future land use, transportation and resource planning that comprehensively incorporates water, energy, climate, and fiscal sustainability goals and measurable objectives into an integrated policy framework for Fresno. These goals and policies will in turn be supported by focused implementing strategies, effective regulatory codes and expeditious permitting processes for desirable development. Successful completion of these tasks will make significant contributions toward the achievement of economic, environmental, and community goals. The Fresno Green Development Code, General Plan and MEIR Update Project is designed as a tool to elevate the inherent values and assets of Fresno into sustainable urban form and municipal practices, and to leverage Fresno’s potential to achieve great city status.
