Perea to Attend Step Out for Diabetes Walk and
2009 Cross City Race

Fresno, CA (September 18, 2009) This weekend Councilmember Perea will be participating in two important community events both taking place at Chukchansi Park in downtown Fresno.

On Saturday, September 19th, at 9AM, Perea will join the Step out for Diabetes walk. The one mile walk will raise money for the American Diabetes Association and participants will also be able to enjoy a health fair and other family activates.

On Sunday, September 20th, at 7AM, Councilmember Perea will sound the starting horn at the 2009 Cross City Race. This annual event includes run, walk and wheelchair races, kids races and family activate. The money raised goes for Saint Agnes cancer research. This year’s donations will go toward prostate cancer research.

Both of these events will raise funds for health issues that have had large impacts in Fresno. Councilmember Perea encourages everyone to participate and dedicate this weekend to improving the health of our community and ourselves.
