Perea Announces Resignation from Fresno City Council to Assume Assembly Post

Fresno, CA (November 29, 2010) Today, Henry T Perea will announce his resignation from the Fresno City Council to assume the California State 31st Assembly seat. Councilmember-elect Clint Olivier will assume his new Council seat 1 month early to accommodate the transition date.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank all the wonderful people I have had a chance to meet and work with during my time as a City of Fresno Councilmember. Serving in this capacity has been an amazing opportunity and I am, of course, sad to be leaving. My only solace is that I hope to be able to do even greater things for the valley as an Assembly Member and that I know my Council District is being left in good hands with Clint. He and his staff have been hard at work preparing for an early transition and I have no doubt of their ability to serve the people of District 7. I want to wish him the best of luck and I look forward to seeing District 7 continue to grow under his stewardship.”
Clint Olivier will be sworn in as interim Councilmember on 12/2/10 and as Councilmember on 1/7/11.
