Perea Supports Fresno to Tune In and Tune Up Fresno, CA (September 11, 2007) On Saturday, September 15th Valley Clean Air, the Bureau of Automotive Repair, the Advanced Transportation Technology, the Energy Initiative and Fresno City College will host the 5th annual Tune In and Tune Up Car Clean Up Event. Council President Perea would like to encourage Fresno residents to take advantage of this program that provides financial assistance to update older cars to meet smog test standards. Perea has been appointed to the California Legislative Task Force on Diabetes and Obesity and will attend its first meeting in Sacramento on Wednesday, August 22, 2007. 08/03/07  Perea Joins Statewide Task Force to Fight Obesity and Diabetes
Fresno, CA (August 3, 2007) Council President Henry T. Perea has committed to joining a legislative task force to study and combat the rising rates of obesity. The task force will work together to both study the causes of obesity in Latinos, African-Americans, Asian Pacific Islanders and Native Americans and to recommended strategies to fight the increasing rates of obesity and diabetes in these groups. >more
