09/14/10  Councilmember Perea Will Ask City Of Fresno to Work with the County for New Medical Marijuana Regulations
Fresno, CA (September 14, 2010) On Thursday, September 16th, during the Council Comments portion of the City of Fresno Council meeting, Councilmember Perea will be asking the City of Fresno to work with the County of Fresno to establish a policy to regulate medical marijuana within the City and County of Fresno. Councilmember Perea’s request will come in support of an action unanimously passed today by the Fresno County Board of Supervisors. This action presents a 45 day moratorium on outdoor marijuana cultivation in the County (indoor legal growth would not be affected) in order to find solutions to several issues associated with medical marijuana. >more

Fresno, CA (August 26, 2010) On Friday, August 27th, at 3:00PM at the Zimmerman Boys & Girls Club (540 N Augusta), Councilmember Henry T. Perea and the AT&T Pioneers volunteer group will present a donation of 50 backpacks filled with school supplies. Councilmember Perea was inspired to help after seeing a news story about backpack donations and the number of deserving children in Fresno who cannot afford to buy proper school supplies. >more

06/02/10  Councilmember Henry T. Perea Cuts Ribbon at Mckenzie Trail
Fresno, CA (June 2, 2010) On Friday, June 4, 2010 at 10AM at Helm and Mckenzie Councilmember Perea will be joined by Supervisor Henry R. Perea, City of Fresno Public Works, the office of Supervisor Debbie Poochigian, students from Kings Canyon Middle School and representatives from Burroughs Neighborhood Committee to cut the ribbon at the long awaited reopening of the Mckenzie trail. First constructed in the 1970’s on the old Clovis Branch Line right-of-way of the Southern Pacific Railroad, the trail provides bike and walk lanes from Willow to Clovis Avenue. >more

Perea will join with the Valley Center for the Blind and the Fresno Host Lions Club in front of City Hall to announce White Cane Day in the City of Fresno. White Cane Day, Saturday May 22, 2010, is a fundraising event to increase public awareness of blind and visually impaired persons as well as the importance of the white cane used by many of these individuals. >more
