Perea Welcomes Sister City Delegation from Verona, Italy

Fresno, CA (October 6, 2010) On Thursday, October 7, 2010, Councilmember Henry T. Perea and Mayor Ashley Swearengin will welcome a delegation from Fresno’s Sister City of Verona, Italy. The Delegation will be formally recognized during Thursday’s council meeting with a reception to follow.

Sister City International is an organization that seeks to further understanding and cooperation between nations. Fresno and Verona were paired as Sister Cities due to the economic and cultural similarities between the two communities. Over this past summer a delegation from Fresno was able to enjoy the hospitality of Verona and is now pleased to be able to host Verona.
