Councilmember Henry T. Perea Bags Groceries to Promote the Use of Reusable Shopping Bags

Fresno, CA (August 11, 2010) On Thursday, August 12, 2010, at 10:30AM, Councilmember Perea will serve as a celebrity bagger for Save Mart Supermarkets at the Kings Canyon and Clovis store. The event will promote the use of reusable shopping bags by having celebrity baggers give out free bags to customers. This event will be sponsored by Save Mart Supermarkets.
“Producing less waste through the use of reusable shopping bags is a simple thing everyone can do to improve our environment. I’m a shopper at this store and I ‘m glad to see Save Mart embracing environmentally friendly policies like this one. If you have reusable bags, don’t forget to bring them with you when you shop. If you don’t, come to the Kings Canyon store and I’ll be happy to put your groceries in a free one for you to take home!”
