Perea Invites Residents to Join District 7 Implementation Committee

Fresno, CA (June 5, 2009) Councilmember Henry T. Perea would like to encourage the residents of Council District 7 to serve on the District 7 Implementation Committee. The committee advises on planning and development projects and gives citizens a chance to have a voice in the growth of their community.
Items involving re-zoning, ABC liquor applications and other planning and development issues are presented to the Implementation Committee for review. These reviews are used by the City Council and the Planning Commission in their deliberations.
“Citizen review is an integral part of the democratic process and that is especially true when it comes to our homes and neighborhoods. Decisions about the direction of growth in Fresno determine the landscape we all live in and I am always happy to hear the input from these committees. I want to encourage anyone who has an interest in this to contact my office for an application.”
