Perea Commends Assembly for Passage of Water Plan and Urges Support from Voters for Bond Passage
Fresno, CA (November 4, 2009) Councilmember Henry T. Perea wishes to commend both the State Senate and Assembly for their leadership in working toward the passage of a new comprehensive water policy. The Assembly passed a bill this morning that amended the Senate bill to include an $11.1 billion bond referendum. This bipartisan effort also includes funding for water storage, restoring the delta ecosystem, water supply reliability projects throughout the state and new conservation rules.
“I really believe that this has been a bipartisan effort to come up with the best possible water reform. When these bonds come before the voters next year I urge them to vote yes and help us start a new era of water management policy in California.”
