Fresno, CA (August 27, 2009) On Friday, August 28, Councilmember Henry T. Perea will sponsor Pet Night at Movies in the Park at Eaton Plaza. Staff from Council District 7, H.O.P.E. Animal Foundation and the Fresno SPCA will be at Eaton Plaza before the scheduled showing of Beverly Hills Chihuahua to give away coupons for a free spay or neuter and hand out information on local animal shelters.

Pet Night at Movies in the Park was started last summer by Councilmember Perea as a way to help care for the animal population of Fresno. Due to the success of the program and an increase in abandoned animals after the recent foreclosure crisis the program will be returning this Friday. Coupons will be distributed on a first come first serve basis starting at 5:30PM.
