Perea Hosts Pet Night at Eaton Plaza

Fresno, CA (August 7, 2008) On Friday, August 8th, Councilmember Henry T. Perea will join with the H.O.P.E. Animal Foundation to give away 20 coupons for a free spay or neuter of a cat or dog. The event will take place at Eaton Plaza on Friday evening at 6PM before the free showing of the family film, Over The Hedge.
Councilmember Perea hopes that this event will provide a night of family entertainment and help take care of pets. “Animal care is such a personal issue for me. I have four dogs myself, 2 of them we took in from families that couldn’t care for them anymore, and there are many others without homes. Shelters are overrun right now with cats and dogs that have been abandoned and families can’t always find the extra money to cover veterinary expenses. I know things are tight financially right now so I hope this can help some families keep their pets without having to worry so much about the costs.”
