Perea Encourages Fresno to Bring Solar Home
01/25/2008

Fresno, CA (January 24, 2008) On January 25, 2008 at 2PM Councilmember Henry T. Perea along with representatives from the Department of Housing and the Fresno Green Team will be holding a press conference at City Hall in room 2120C to encourage participation in the City’s Solar Rebate & Loan program.

“This is a program that I am extremely proud of and fought hard for. Not only does this loan and rebate help home owners finance improvements to their property it helps the entire City by bringing more solar energy systems into our valley. I truly believe solar energy is the future of Fresno and that this program is one of the first in many steps toward making our community a true “Solar Valley”.”

The Solar Rebate and Loan are two separate programs for qualifying residents of Fresno. The Solar Energy System Loan provides a zero percent loan for up to 75% of the total purchase and installation price for a new home solar system. Fresno residents may also apply for the Solar Energy Rebate which provides a rebate of up to 10% of the total purchase and installation costs with a maximum rebate of $2,000. To find out more about these programs please contact the Housing & Community Development Division of the City of Fresno at 559-621-8300.
