Perea Breaks Ground at Theodore Roosevelt Plaza
02/29/2008

Fresno, CA (February 29, 2008) On Saturday, March 1st at 10:00AM Councilmember Henry T. Perea will speak at the opening ceremony for the newly improved Theodore Roosevelt Plaza. The Plaza consists of a group of business at the corner of Cedar and Tulare across from Roosevelt High School that have been repainted by students with school colors to show community pride and serve as an example of neighborhood improvement.

The project began when Roosevelt High school contacted Councilmember Henry T. Perea to help them in their plan to improve the look of businesses around the school. Perea then acted as a liaison between the school, Police, businesses, City Departments and other interested parties to coordinate a successful neighborhood partnership that has given a blighted area a much needed boost. Henry T. Perea would like to give special thanks to Sherwin Williams and the Fresno Police Department Graffiti Team who donated paint and supplies, as well as West Coast Arborist, who donated a tree to begin the replacement of missing landscaping.
