Perea Challenges FPOA President to Fitness Competition
05/12/2006
Fresno, CA (May 12, 2006) On Wednesday, May 17th Councilmember Henry T. Perea is encouraging the city of Fresno to join in National Fitness day. The residents of Fresno are encouraged to take simple steps such as using the stairs instead of the elevator and walking during their lunch hour to improve their personal fitness. These actions can seem like small changes, but they can have a large impact on an individual’s health and well being.
For his part Councilmember Perea will be joining in a fitness competition with Jacky Parks, President of the Fresno Police Officers Association. "This is just a friendly competition we started to help keep us motivated. Everyone needs encouragement maintaining their health and that’s why I feel it is so important to support National Fitness day. I hope that the people of Fresno can come together to help our community enjoy a healthy lifestyle."
