District Projects
No Neighborhood Left Behind
Each year Councilmembers are given money to improve the infrastructure in their districts. This has allowed a great deal of improvement but has not solved the problems. In early 2004 I presented a new program to the City Council that would get the work done in 6 years instead of 30.
Work included in the program is the installation and repair of sidewalks, curbs and gutters, the installation of streetlights and repairs to roadways. The No Neighborhood Left Begin Plan (NNLB) was passed by the Council and work began in 2005.
Under NNLB money that once went to individual Council Districts now goes to the parts of the City that need it most. The following is what I have been able to accomplish with District 7 funds.
