Sal Quintero, District 5
Fresno City Councilmember Sal Quintero
Having lived in Fresno all of my life and attended local schools, I have a deep appreciation for Fresno’s diverse community, its rich history and its bright future.
In 1995 I was elected to the Fresno City Council, representing District 5 and proudly served two 4 year terms. I have never believed that running government by “sound bites” is the best way to represent the hard working men and women of our community. Instead, I prefer to roll up my sleeves, work quietly and get the job done.
During my first eight years as your council member, I was able to acquire $1.5 million to open Fresno’s first Senior Citizens Resource Center; proud to have been part of Fresno’s first 4 field Soccer Complex; worked with the property owners to demolish and build the Eastgate Shopping Center, serving the entire community. Many more projects were accomplished that I am very proud of.
Fighting crime, working to improve our schools, creating good paying jobs, cleaning our air and preserving our neighborhoods are the issues that I fight for.
Real leadership begins with the ability to bring people together, forge a consensus and have a positive and tenacious attitude; then take action and get down to business.
I am humbled to be back as your District 5 Council Member and am always willing to take your calls and meet with you to discuss your concerns.
