Public Safety
In terms of public safety, I am committed to finding new ways to better serve the residents of District 5. I have been in the process of having new traffic signals installed to ensure the commuter’s safety. I am also proud of the fact that Southeast Fresno has had the lowest crime rate in over 30 years. District 5 is also the district with the lowest violent crime rate, and it’s all thanks to the community for taking preventive measures to keep Southeast safe, and to the alliance I have formed with our Police and Fire Departments. I promised to give our Fire and Police all the necessary resources to make sure Southeast was safe and secure, and the most recent statistics prove that I have delivered my promise. To date, we have had approximately 35 alleys closed in our neighborhoods to ensure resident safety.
