Councilmember Calhoun Announces the Start of the 6th Annual Orchid Awards Season

, 2006 ) Northwest District 2 Councilmember Brian Calhoun announced the start of the 2006 Orchid Awards Season today. He has once again kicked off his innovative program to recognize Northwest District 2 residents and business owners who contribute to the area by beautifying their homes, stores and offices. The program is called the Orchid Awards and it recognizes winners in 5 separate categories: Residential Architecture, Office/Commercial Architecture, Residential Landscaping, Office/Commercial Landscaping, and the Councilmember’s Special Image award.
“People who are striving to improve their surroundings are such a valuable asset to our community, primarily because in doing so they beautify Fresno while inspiring others to do the same. I encourage any resident of the City of Fresno to nominate deserving homes, offices, or commercial projects in Northwest District 2 for an Orchid Award,” said Councilmember Brian Calhoun.
