09/12/06  Councilmember Calhoun to Propose the Creation of a Downtown Fresno Renaissance by Developing an Adaptive Building Reuse Ordinance to Renovate Vacant Buildings
FRESNO, CA (September 12, 2006) Northwest District 2 Councilmember Brian Calhoun will hold a news Conference, Wednesday, September 13, at 3:00 PM at the southwest corner of Tulare and Fulton to present his “Building Renaissance” proposal for Downtown Fresno. The proposal – which he will present to Council on Tuesday, September 19th, at 2:45 PM – will direct City of Fresno staff to develop an Adaptive Building Reuse Ordinance for Downtown. City staff would return to Council by the end of the year with an ordinance that would include plans for accelerating a Downtown Renaissance through the renovation and reuse of vacant buildings. The ordinance will be tailored for Fresno based on similar, successful ordinances in Denver, Los Angeles, Boston and New York City >more

FRESNO , CA (August 7 , 2006 ) Northwest District 2 Councilmember Brian Calhoun announced the start of the 2006 Orchid Awards Season today. He has once again kicked off his innovative program to recognize Northwest District 2 residents and business owners who contribute to the area by beautifying their homes, stores and offices.
