Councilmember Calhoun Announces Winners of the 5th Annual Orchid Awards

FRESNO, CA (October 25, 2005) Northwest District 2 Councilmember Brian Calhoun has announced the winners of his innovative program to recognize Northwest District 2 residents and business owners who contribute to the area by beautifying their homes, stores and offices.
The program is called the Orchid Awards and it recognizes winners in 5 separate categories.
This year’s winners and categories are as follows:
Residential Architecture – Bob & Shirley Emrick – 324 W. Audubon Drive
Commercial Architecture – Bob & Karen McCaffrey, McCaffrey Group – 7020 N. Van Ness
Residential Landscaping – Louis & Lisa Jelinek – 3315 W. Magill Avenue
Commercial Landscaping – Leo Wilson, Wilson Homes – 7550 N. Palm Avenue
Councilmember’s Special Image – Thomas & Carla Heslin – 6553 N. Harrison Avenue
“People who are striving to improve their surroundings are such a valuable asset to our community, primarily because in doing so they beautify Fresno while inspiring others to do the same,” said Councilmember Brian Calhoun.
Calhoun will present the 5th Annual Orchid Awards at the October 25th City Council meeting at 8:30 AM.
