09/21/09  Airport Response to Fitch Ratings
On Monday, September 21, 2009, Fitch Ratings affirmed Fresno Yosemite International Airport with a ‘BBB+’ rating for approximately $60 million in outstanding City of Fresno General Airport Revenue Bonds. The firm said the ‘BBB+’ reflects FYI’s position as the principal airport serving the central San Joaquin Valley, its solid air service to major origination & destination markets and hubs in the western half of the United States, and its diversity of revenue sources that provide a degree of financial stability to help manage the airport’s cost per enplanement (CPE). Fitch also revised its rating outlook from Stable to Negative, citing recent weakness in economic activity in the air trade service area, along with moderate downward trends in passenger traffic. >more

The new construction of Taxiway H is the first step in preparing the north side of Chandler Executive for future aviation development. >more

08/26/09  37 Years And Still Cutting It
District 4 Council member Larry Westerlund together with Fresno Yosemite International Airport staff honor Nicholas Palomares with a Resolution of Commendation for 37 years as the Airport Barber at the regular meeting of the City Council on August 27th at 8:30am. Nick Palomares has been doing business in the exact same location as Nicholas Jet-Set Haircutting for Men in the Airport terminal for the past 37 years. The business has withstood a myriad of terminal improvement projects over time, never moving yet continuing to cut hair at a rate of 12 haircuts a day, five days a week with only a few days off for vacation. >more

08/19/09  Additional Air Service Options at FYI
Fresno Yosemite International Airport is pleased to announce the addition of two daily flights to Los Angeles and added capacity to Phoenix, Arizona. Beginning August 25, American Eagle will add two daily flights to Los Angeles. US Airways Express will upgrade its early afternoon Phoenix bound aircraft with an Airbus A319 beginning September 9. >more

06/02/09  Seasonal Adjustments Offer Added Flight Options
Fresno Yosemite International Airport is pleased to announce the arrival of seasonal flight increases to Salt Lake City and Dallas/Fort Worth. Beginning June 4 through Sept 5, Delta Connection/SkyWest will add a third daily flight to Salt Lake City. American Airlines plans to add a third daily flight to Dallas/Fort Worth starting June 25 for approximately eight weeks. >more
