| Passenger traffic at Fresno Yosemite International Airport has shown marked improvement with six consecutive months of passenger traffic growth. The last two quarters have repositioned the Airport back to 2007 levels when traffic was at its peak before the economic downturn and loss of daily service to Mexico. | Fresno Yosemite International Airport received Council support today for long-range airfield enhancement plans by approving over $35 million for runway reconstruction and ramp construction work.In October work will begin on reconstructing the aging commercial aircraft apron and taxilane leading to the Federal Inspection Station located on the east side of the terminal. | The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will conduct a media availability Thursday, September 8, to demonstrate new advanced imaging technology (AIT) software being deployed at Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT).TSA is installing new software, referred to as Automated Target Recognition, on its millimeter wave AIT machines. The software enhances privacy by eliminating passenger-specific images and instead depicting anomalies detected during the screening process through a generic, computer-generated outline of a person that is identical for all passengers. >more |
