Fresno Yosemite International Airport Welcomes Passengers Home for the Holidays
11/24/2010
The spirit of the Christmas season will be celebrated at Fresno Yosemite International Airport with the transformation of the central terminal lobby into a forest of beautiful, breath-taking, designer Christmas trees for all to enjoy.
Beginning Sunday, Nov. 28, faux Christmas trees will be erected for local designers to create their artistic rendition of a specific travel destination from around the world. The theme An Airport Christmas…home for the holidays will consist of twelve designer Christmas trees, scheduled live entertainment, a lighted Victorian Christmas Village, and surprise visits from Santa Claus throughout the month of December. The display will kick off with a tree lighting ceremony with Mayor Swearengin on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
“We’re happy for the opportunity to continue this long-held holiday tradition for the region at the airport and invite the community out to enjoy the spirit of the Christmas season,” said Russ Widmar, Director of Aviation.
No admission will be charged to view the display. Parking is available in Airport lots for as little as $3 an hour and visitors are encouraged to bring a carload of family and friends to enjoy the display.
