Fresno-Yosemite Aviation Director Elected To ACI-NA Board

The City of Fresno and the Fresno Yosemite International Airport are pleased to announce the election of Aviation Director Russell C. Widmar to the Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) Board of Directors. The elections were held on September 29, 2010 during the Annual General Membership Business Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Widmar is one of four newly elected members to the 22-member Board.
The ACI-NA is the authoritative voice of commercial airports in the United States and Canada which advocates policy and provides services that strengthen the ability of airports to serve passengers, customers and communities. The organization works to ensure that legislation and regulations enacted in Washington, D.C., enhance the safety and efficiency of airport operations.
The primary role of the Board of Directors is to consider policy for ultimate approval by the ACI-NA Executive Committee.
This is the second appointment to the ACI-NA Board of Directors for Mr. Widmar during his Director of Aviation tenure. In 2002, Mr. Widmar served a three-year term on the Board of Directors. His new appointment to the Board will begin on January 1, 2011.
