Fresno , CA (April 23, 2008) Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FYI) is excited to celebrate the one-year anniversary with ExpressJet for providing direct service from FYI to Long Beach, Ontario and San Diego.

To commemorate their anniversary, ExpressJet is hosting a public party at the Elbow Room Thursday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Representatives from FYI encourage attendees to meet with ExpressJet representatives personally and encourage them to include direct air service to Sacramento.

FYI is actively working to recruit new airlines and expanded air services for the Central Valley region. Airports marketing and public relations staff will be on-site handing out buttons that state, “Setting our sights on Sacramento.”

FYI Marketing Manager Rhonda Jorn stated, “Although the current climate in the aviation industry is very unstable, we need the community to show ExpressJet that there is a need and opportunity for additional air services at FYI.”

Nine carriers currently offer Valley passengers nearly 50 daily departures from Fresno. FYI is a municipally owned entity operating as a self-supporting enterprise. No City of Fresno general funds are used to operate Fresno Yosemite International or Fresno Chandler Executive Airport.
