Is there a shuttle from the Airport to Yosemite National Park?
Currently, Yosemite does not offer a bus from the airport directly to Yosemite. However, you can contact a few agencies in advance to make arrangements. Try VIA (Yosemite Service) at 559-VIA- LINE. Or, Touch of Class Limo service, call toll-free at (888) 575-4667, or on the web; www.touchofclasslimo.com. They pick up from our airport by reservation. Finally, you may wish to also contact our local Yosemite Store for additional options at (559) 251-1506.

How do I apply for any jobs at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport?
Fresno Yosemite International Airport is owned by the City of Fresno. Employment for airport; management, clerical, maintenance and airport safety officers is done at City Hall - job line (559) 621-6999, or www.fresno.gov. Airlines, cargo carriers and concession employment is handled by the individual employers on-site only. In addition, SkyWest does have a maintenance facility here in Fresno. You will have to apply with each agency separately. Airport screening is now handled by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Applications for employment are available at the TSA website www.tsa.dot.gov.

Is FYI and FAT the same airport?
Yes. Fresno Yosemite International, or FYI, is the Airport acronym/initials; FAT is the pilot/federal identifier code. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) assigns all airports "Airport Identifier" codes. Since Fresno airport's original name in the 1940's was Fresno Air Terminal, FAT is what was assigned. The Airport applied for a new identifier code when the airport changed its name in 1996; however, the FAA will only assign a new airport identifier code when an airport physically moves to another location, such what happened in 1995 when Denver Airport moved from Stapleton (DIA/DEN).

What are the dimension and weight limits of a luggage?
There is no standardization for baggage nationwide or internationally. Each airline tends to have its own specifications that they follow. Please contact your airline directly for the best information on baggage size and weight limitations. For convenience, you may wish to go online to the airline's website and get the information rather than trying to get through on a toll-free phoneline.

When is the terminal open?
The Airport terminal lobby opens at 3am daily, and closes after the final departure - usually right after 1am.

Do I REALLY have to be at the Airport two hours before my flight?
Yes. Airline and federal screening staff recommend two hours for domestic travel and three hours for international travel. Why? Security measures change quickly and any hang up with someone in front of you slows the entire line. Also, weather conditions and/or aircraft issues can affect your flight plans anywhere along your travel route.

Better to prepare with a cushion of time than panic as time runs short!
