Housing Rehabilitation Programs
The City of Fresno's Housing and Community Development Division administers several housing rehabilitation programs for single-family homes for the benefit of low-income households.
CITY WIDE REHABILITATION PROGRAM – The City of Fresno will implement a Citywide Rehabilitation Program funded through the HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) to eligible owner-occupied homeowners with incomes at or below 80% of area median income. The program provides homeowners up to $65,000 of rehabilitation assistance in the form of a grant to provide interior and exterior rehabilitation of single-family homes. The City anticipates using $1.5 million in HOME Program financing to rehabilitate 22 units. Implementation will occur FY2015-FY2016. Program funds are available citywide, excluding County of Fresno islands. Homes located in Special Flood Hazard Areas are not eligible.
SENIOR PAINT GRANT PROGRAM – The City of Fresno offers a Senior Paint Program to low-income senior citizens (62 years of age or older) who own and occupy their homes. The CDBG funds provide for a licensed lead-certified painting contractor to paint the exterior of the home and may include minor repairs, (i.e., screens, broken window panes, loose or damaged gutters, etc.) provided there are enough funds available after deducting the cost of the paint project. A maximum of $100,000 of CDBG funds will be used in this project. Implementation will occur in FY2015-2016. Approximately 19 households will be assisted with the Senior Paint Program within the City of Fresno.
