Warming Center Warming Shelter

In addition to public agencies providing shelter to our homeless and indigent population, the City of Fresno has the following parameters in effect to provide additional shelter from the extreme cold:

When the National Weather Service overnight temperature prediction falls to 36 degrees or below:

Frank H. Ball Neighborhood Center (760 Mayor Ave.) opens as a Warming Center from 8:30pm to 6:30am.

FAX to provide free fixed-route bus transportation to Frank H. Ball Neighborhood Center beginning at 5 p.m. on official Warming Center nights. Citizens need to indicate to the FAX driver that they are traveling to the Warming Center.

PARCS will distribute Bus Ride Tickets (valid only on Routes 32 and 34, one transfer allowed) to Warming Center participants as needed for return bus ride the following morning.

If the shelter reaches a capacity of more than 100 individuals, a second facility will be opened.

For additional information regarding City of Fresno Warming Centers, contact the Parks, After School, Recreation and Community Services (PARCS) Department at (559) 621-CITY (2489).
